DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?

I’m proud of you. I really am.

Do you want to know why?

It’s because I know you’re out there in the world showing up each day, doing the best that you can – even if you don’t always see it, feel it or believe it.

Like many of my clients who often feel they either aren’t doing their best, aren’t anyone that special or doing anything that groundbreaking in the world, I know you too feel like this sometimes.

It’s not always easy, is it? But you persevere anyway.

Those days you don’t feel like getting out of bed? You do anyway.

When someone tries to put you down or insult you, do you retaliate? Nope, you’re better than that.

When change unexpectedly comes crashing into your life, do you dread it? I don’t think so – you welcome it wholeheartedly.

When things aren’t going your way or running smoothly, do you stomp your feet and complain? Absolutely not – you understand life isn’t all rainbows and lollipops.

When that good deed (or three) you did goes unnoticed, or you feel under appreciated and undervalued, do you crumble into a heap on the floor? Are you kidding, you’re not one to take things personally.

When fear stares you in the face do you run the other way? Nope. You see fear. You embrace it. You conquer it.

When an outcome was less than, or different to what you had hoped, do you turn into a hot mess and blame the world? Heck no, you’re grateful for the lessons that life is continually teaching you.

When you hear a ‘no’ or twenty consecutive ‘no’s, do you think something must be wrong with you? You’re kidding right; you know that a ‘no’ means you’re one step closer to a big juicy ‘YES!’

When it’s raining outside, do you proclaim that means the whole day is going to be crappy? Ha! A little bit of rain? You love it. You see the beauty in it. You know you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain.

This AMAZING woman?

This is the amazing woman I see in you.

This is the amazing woman you are.

The question is, do you see what I see?

Guess what one of the most rewarding things for me is in the work that I do?

It’s seeing these women for who they really are, even if they don’t – and knowing that through our work together, they will start to see themselves through my eyes and slowly but surely see, feel and embrace the amazing woman they are.

I see them for who they are in all their glory very quickly: their incredible and independent self, their shy and confident self; their rational, pragmatic, yet spirited and fiery self, the beautiful square peg in a round hole who thinks they should try to mould themselves into something else to please others (or try to fit into the ‘norm’) instead of embracing the divine being they are – I see it all.

Yet, that sensational woman I see in them from day one? Their view of themselves is so far from that.

Through our soulful sessions and heartfelt chats, I listen to and watch them transform like a beautiful butterfly emerging from what was once a cocoon.

And when they do witness and feel those changes within themselves right at their very core?

When ‘the penny drops,’ when a breakthrough occurs or new way of thinking emerges; when they start to consciously decide to play bigger in their life; when they realise they only need to make a few small changes to create some mighty big outcomes in their life, or when they start to revel in their dreams and see what is truly possible for them?

My goodness, nothing lights them (or me) up more.

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” – Maya Angelou
