“This is your life.  Do what you love, and do it often.  If you don’t like your job, quit.  If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV.  If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love.  Stop over analyzing, life is simple.  All emotions are beautiful.  When you eat, appreciate every last bite.  Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences.  Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them.  Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself.  Some opportunities only come once, seize them.  Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating.  Life is short.  Live your dream and share your passion.”

If you know me, you know how much I love a great quote, mantra and the like, but there is something incredibly powerful and extra special about the Holstee Manifesto.

I am not religious but if I were, this manifesto would be my bible. I believe these words should be the foundation of how we live our lives.  These statements/inspirations/declarations call them what you will, are not rocket science nor complicated in any way shape or form and yet so many people struggle to live by these simple principles.

Why? Do we not want to live a beautiful and happy life? Are we masochists? Do we want to go through hardships and cause inner turmoil?

Most likely not, but I think as a society we have become largely desensitised to our surroundings and often don’t even realise that the life we are living is not as wonderful as it could really be.

In fact truth be told I think it’s harder to not live by these values because the opposite requires a lot more energy.

Think about it. Isn’t overanalyzing harder than being carefree? Isn’t turning up to a job you dislike or worse yet, hate, harder than just quitting and following your heart?  Doesn’t it take more concentrated and deliberate effort to be close minded and unwelcoming to people?

Imagine a world in which everyone treated this manifesto as his or her platform for living a wholesome and profoundly beautiful life.

How much more peaceful and humble would people and places be?

This manifesto is my gorgeous guiding light and as the universe would have it, through one of my new and beautiful connections I recently obtained a huge poster of this manifesto that this person so generously and thoughtfully gave to me.  A random act of kindness and generosity has brought me so much happiness and now I get to wake up every morning and go to bed every night reading these words that hang above my bed in a huge frame; a powerful reminder of the life I want to and am living.

I want you to go out there into the world and let your light shine bright too beautiful. This is YOUR life, nobody else’s. Are you going to let someone or something else dictate your happiness and lust for life or are you going to grab life with both hands and propel yourself forward to live the best life you know you can live?
